I've had two friends who have lost their pets recently due to old age and illness. Here is a sympathy card I made for the using Hero Arts ink, Hero Arts background stamp, Spellbinders diecut, and Hero Arts Sympathy sentiment set.
I know a lot of friends with pets and when their pets pass, I typically send a donation to the Kansas State University Pet Tribute Program in memory of the pet. They in turn, send a wonderful letter to the owner that honors the life of the pet. It's a wonderful gift to receive if you have lost a pet.
