Sebastian's card

Creepy Glowbugg has a link to the story about a little boy who is going in for (another) surgery on 2/15/12.  His medical condition isn't one that most people have heard of... Arthrogryposis.   Please click on the link to learn more about Sebastian and his condition.
***If you have an extra card, laying about, perhaps you could consider sending it to him.  :)
Here is the address to send the card to:
Sebastian
c/o Ms. Brown's Class
Greynolds Park Elementary School
1536 NE 179 Street
North Miami Beach, FL 33162

and here is the link to his story.

Here is the card I made for him....

For the front of my card, I used the Hoot n Holler Cricut cartridge, Scrappy Mom's sentiment, and an Action Wobble.  The banner is Lawn Fawn, stamped in Jenni Bowlin ink.  The color of ink for the sentiment is Peeled Paint (Tim Holtz Distress Ink).  I used some glitter to bling up my owl.

The inside sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. The cut out Giraffe is from the big pack of Recollections (Michaels) Zoo assortments.

Happy Veterans Day

I hope you all had a happy Veterans Day and had the opportunity to thank a veteran or someone currently serving in the military.

I made this Thanksgiving card with a Pink Cat Studios Digi-image.  I used a lot of Glossy Accents, Stickles, and Sakura Glitter pen.  This image was cut out and is on an Action Wobble.

The sentiment on the inside is from Mary at Cardztv with a watermark of "happy bird day" that came from Paper Trey Ink's stamp set.

CONGRATULATIONS CARD

One of my friend's has a wonderful husband who works for our city.  He is always keeping an eye out for me... and making sure that things in my neighborhood are going well.  So it was just fitting that he was recently given an additional accolade of being President of the Employee Association.  I am so happy for him. He is just a wonderful person with integrity and an awesome work ethic.

So, of course, I had to make him a little card.

I've recently become addicted to Paper Trey Ink dies and stamps (bad bad... like I have time to even use them. I just like buying them).  Here is the card I made with the Birthday Bash cartridge, an action wobble, some Liquid Pearls, and my Paper Trey Ink die/Stamp.   I also used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder (see the white paper- hard to see).

Guess what I saw at Target and I nearly fell over!!!!

THE FEMBOTS!!!!

Lastly, thank you Jeni for the comment re: my pillow cases.  I don't know how to make anything but that at this stage but here are the two pillow cases I made for the big pillows my friend gave my dogs.  Here is Sammy lounging on the pillows.  There are paw prints on the blue/purple one.

Foxy Trot

Here's another card using Campin' Critters.  This actually could be a comedic caricature of me in spin class. Do ya see how that right thigh just melts into the right calf?  That's called Reese's Pieces Alley! [I'm currently addicted to them.  Why? I don't know. Ever since my congestion, I find comfort in these little pebbles of salty crunchiness.]
BTW, that sexy fox is on an Action Wobble....

Campin Critter Card

This little bear is on an Action Wobble.
In the last week, I have come home to some drawings stuffed in my mailbox, courtesy of some of the neighborhood children. So, I created a couple cards and dropped off some new color markers so that they could continue with their artistic endeavors...

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PROMO!!!

I got this cute little image from Wendy at Digital Delights by Louby Lou!!!! And when you put in him on an Action Wobble.... he looks even cuter!!!  I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities (Labels) and Copics. As I told you in a prior post, my friend got a promo so this is the card I gave her.  Congrats L!!!!

Close up Image

Sentiment from Scrappy Moms!!!  Stickers from Michaels

Amuse-bouche:  And as I craft, I've been watching The Shining (the original) with Jack Nicholson.  I've seen this movie so many times.  We used to have holidays at my cousins' house and every holiday (mind you, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and NY's), we'd break out The Shining on VHS  and watch it at least once.  (The other choice was Moonraker).

Scrappy is feeling crappy

Here is the last card for the week, until I can make more.  It was made with a Louby Lou image and an Action Wobble. I also used the same Stampin up sentiment that I used on my prior card. Note, there's a Sizzx embossing folder thrown in there too.

Copics were used to color the image.

The weather keeps changing here in So Cal and my body can't keep my internal temperature consistent... this usually results in a heaviness in my chest cavity (chest congestion).  I took my Claritin and I'm off to bed. If you don't hear from me, please call for reinforcements (haha).

HOPPY EASTER

Here is an Easter card I made a friend.  It is made with an image from Wendy at Digital Delights with Louby Lou.  I also put it on an Action Wobble.  In addition, I used my COPICS pens.  The Sentiment came from Stampin' Up and I used two punches (1" circle and 1.5 scallop circle).  I also used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss the yellow paper.

Amuse-bouche:
Joke for you... well, those of you who have heard Lady Gaga's song, "Pokerface"

"How do you wake Lady Gaga up in the morning?"
"Po-po-poke- her face."

Hello??? Is this thing on?  Hello?
Let me just say, I am NOT a Lady Gaga fan.

Here's my latest favorite song (via video since I don't know how else to put a song up here) that I dance to on the stair-stepper.... I would have put the video up but it was extremely risque. About the 30 second mark is when I start the head-banging...

Sam and Dean Winchester.... here we come!!!

Another Valentine's Day card...?   FOR ME????

Glitter was applied to the skunk and pink flocking was applied to the nose.

I wanted to make a card using the Action Wobble and here it is.  It's made with Create a Critter's stinky skunk (with glitter on the stripe), ribbon from Michaels, Scrappy Mom's LOVE NOTES stamp and my homemade flowers.  I also stamped hearts with the Whisper White Stampin' Up ink pad and the Scrappy Mom's stamp.  The smaller hearts were done by hand with a white pen.  (Note: the whisper white ink was very faint so I had to color over the image with my white pen)

I also experimented with making hearts similar to the flower in the card above.  I used the Cuttlebug on some of the plain colored sheets and used distressing ink to outline the big heart.  The silver heart came from a brad that I got at Michaels.

Amuse-bouche:
The Supernatural boys are in town for their annual Convention.  Yay!!! Hoping they'll reveal if there will be a Season 7!!!!

Mom... I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!

Dear Followers,

Today's card is a card that I created after hearing about an 'incident' that my friend, Miss Turtle, had recently.

It was Miss Turtle's mother's birthday... so Miss Turtle decided to surprise her mother with a birthday breakfast when her mother got out of the shower.  Her mother was so happy and surprised to see the wonderful breakfast that Miss Turtle made for her.  She ate her breakfast and they got ready to go to school.  As they were preparing to leave, Miss Turtle realized that there was a homework assignment that she forgot about.  Panic overtook her.  She had not had a late homework to date for the school year.  She did not want her record tarnished.  She was frantic.  My friend, being the very calm and rational mother that she is, told Miss Turtle that it would be ok.  It was just one homework assignment.

As they were going to school, they stopped at the red light.  Suddenly, from the back seat came an explosive "I'M FREAKING OUT."  Her mother, realizing how very important this was for Miss Turtle, explained that she can start working on her homework and that they would sit in the car until she was finished with her homework.  This reduced Miss Turtle's "Freaking Out" Level to 'manageable.'  She was able to finish her homework and bolt from the car into class before the last bell.
Doodlecharm Cartridge, Pooh Font, PeachKeen Everyday Expression stamps.  The car is on an Action Wobble

Inside the card-- Everyday Paper Dolls and Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge

I made this card for Miss Turtle as I could just hear her bellowing "I'M FREAKING OUT!"
I know you are lurking on my blog Miss Turtle... and this message is for you.  I know it wasn't a funny situation when you were going through all that.  But one day, you will find this card and remember that day... and you'll think to yourself "Wow, that wasn't such a big deal after all."   They'll be other days when you'll want to freak out.  And it's ok to say "MOM, I'M FREAKING OUT"... but try not to let it upset you too much because one day, you won't even remember what you were freaking out... (unless I made a card about that also).

We all make boo-boos in life:  teachers, moms, police officers, and yes, even me!!! (hahahaha).  I bet there are a lot of followers here on the blog that have had their share of Freaking Out Days when they were growing up.  Those mistakes teach us something.  So, don't be afraid to make a mistake.  It's not a bad thing

Love, Miss Naomi

PS: Your mom LOVED your breakfast surprise. She talked about it all morning!!!!
