Excuse the fur but I live in a small zoo. Should you see a Chiweenie running by with glue dots on his face, please stop him. I need those dots.

A belated Valentine's card....
Using my Hero Arts background stamp, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Lawnfawn Stamps, Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamp (Love is in the Air), Penny Black stamp (airplane and stamp)... I created this little doosey!!!
Copics were used to color the image. The background stamp was created using Watercolor paper, Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink (and a water mister), and white embossing powder. I did use the clear glitter pen on the Love banner to make it glitter a bit...
Happy Wednesday!!!

An elegant Valentine's Day card... with Penny Black
Using my Scrappy Moms sentiments with my Versamark pad, I created this background for my image. The image is colored with Copics and used some Tumbled Glass ink. I didn't do any fancy shading on the dress. The flowers are from the $1.00 bin at Michaels.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge with Penny Black
I'm entering this in the SSS Challenge. They request that a Penny Black stamp is used although you don't have to. Here's a new stamp set I got. I used Copics and some Distress Inks.
Amuse-Bouche:
Today it was very warm out so I took the boys out for a walk. I snapped a few photos of them....

Comical Valentine's Card
Here's a comical Valentine's card... This was made with a Dude Time Doodles image (colored with COPICS), Spellbinders die, Fiskar's punch, and Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamp.
| A close - up view. |
The 'phrase' is mine... stamped with Lawn Fawn (Jessie's ABC's) stamp with Black Tuxedo (Memento) ink. The corners were punched with a 4 -variety corner punch by Fiskars (available at Michaels). The red hearts are from Scrappy Mom's.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY...
This image is a Penny Black image from her "Mimi" series. I LOVE PENNY BLACK. As you can see by my posts, I love her farm animal series but now, I have found her Mimi series-- just . so . cute!!! (I'm waiting anxiously to get her London series--- check them out HERE. Look at the farm animals driving the double decker bus!!!)
(If you want to see more of my Penny Black stamps, check my sidebar for "Penny Black.")
Here's my card from the Mimi Series:
This was made with Spellbinders Nestabilities. The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's stamps. It was stamped in Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup ink. The red matte with the image on it, is a Hero Arts background stamp (see the end of my post for the stamp). I used Cough Syrup ink to stamp the image on the red cardstock.
The image is from Penny Black, colored with COPICS and Stickles were used to bling everything up. Barn Door Distress Ink was used on the outside edge of the diecut image. The white paper is THICK Paper Trey Ink cardstock. I tried to keep it simple and clean... but it kinda looks plain.
Oh well...
Oh well...
Here is the inside of the card:
The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's.
| My personalized envelope. Simple but theme-approriate.The hearts came from the Scrappy Mom's sentiment set. |
Here is the background stamp that I used on the red Spellbinders matte:
Amuse-bouche: Netflix now has streaming of the Supernatural TV series. YAY!!! Sam and Dean, 24 - 7.

Valentine's Candy in a gift container....
Here's a neat container that I used to fill with Valentine's candy.
See below: I cut red cardstock at 8.25" x 4.25". I used two Paper Trey Ink stamps and stamped the images using Colorbox white ink and Jenni Bowlin Brown Sugar ink and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The punch was a small punch that I had from years ago (I don't know who the maker is). I punched hearts about 1" in from the edge. I put red Stickles on the heart.
I used Scotch Quick Dry and adhered the openings shut. I used the paper crimper (Fiskar's) to crimp the edges (use glue as well)
Amuse-bouche:
Well I've had some days off from work and even though I have tons of scrapping things I need to work on (playing with new Distress stains, stamps, etc)... I have been such a SLACKER. I have been sleeping, watching Big Bang Theory, eating, watching American Idol on my DVR until 3am, and as of 24 hours ago, I started reading Stephen King's 11/22/63. I can't stop reading it. It's soooo good.

Valen-dude(s)
Ha!
Happy Valentine's Day!!! This is the Last Card you'll be seeing from me for a while regarding Valentine's Day. I'm off to go find myself a short, red-headed dude in a green suit with a lot of money and some beer!!!!!!
This guy is such a DUDE! Look at him. He exudes "Dude-Ness". Maybe that's why I found him on http://www.dudetimedoodles.com/.

Inside, I wrote "What more can a woman ask for?"
I applied Worn Lipstick Distress Ink with my ink pad (from Ranger Ink).
(To be honest, I don't know what he's holding? Sunglasses case? Man-clutch?)

I've been a crafting tornado lately. This week, I plan to be dormant...

Valentine's Candy Boxes
Here is a super simple treat box. It is used with the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge. It is the "heart box." I used DCWV Valentine's Day paper. I cut a small square of clear acetate plastic for the window (which I got at Michaels). I believe it's by Graphic X. I then filled it with M and M's (plain and peanut!).
I only have a Cricut Create (rather than an Expression) so I made the box as large as I could on my mat. (I used my Gypsy to plan the size on the mat). The box surface is about 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"
The flower was just used for the photo. I ripped that off a gift bag someone gave me.
ADDENDUM TO "THE DRESS:"
Holly: yes, I sent my friend the card. She LOL'd. She was so surprised to get it and yet, she was amazed at how perfect Marlene's image was!!! Needless to say, she loved the card, despite my odd reptilian skin color. C'mon, don't you think my skin looks the underbelly of croc?
Marlene: yes, I still have the dress. AND I plan to model it and post the photo so all you 5 Readers can view it... in all its glory.
Perhaps the skin coloring is accurate. I tend to have a yellowish hue in the winter months... a shade my dermotologist prefers as opposed to my normal 'sun-worshipping-sans-sunscreen-toasted-whole-wheat-english-muffin' look.

WATCH WHERE YOU'RE POINTING THAT THING!
I loved creating this card. The paper was DCWV but the image was from Bugaboo Stamps http://www.bugaboostamps.com/home.html.
I love the images. They're snarky, just like Marlene :)
As you can see, I used my Prismacolor pencils and glittered the wings. I used the Red Christmas stickles on the heart/arrow. I used Sharpie (red color) to color in the hearts on the headband. The ribbon was at Michaels (50% off. I love this ribbon. It's so pretty).
Inside, I typed a sentiment that says "Is this thing insured?"

Valentine's Day Cards
I love these cards I made. I especially love the Sizzx embossing folder with that pretty/shimmery deep red paper. That was part of a Recollections paper package that Michaels sold just for V-Day. It was deceiving as I thought I was just getting red but if you flipped the paper over, it was a shimmery deep red.
The image is from Tiddly Inks and I colored with Prismacolor pencils. Still trying to get the hang of that. The sentiment is from my new Scrappy Moms stamp release ("Love Notes"). I glittered the wings, and stickled some hair.
The last two photographs were made with my homemade Wild Plum Glimmer Mist. I distressed the white cardstock, sprayed it with my mist, crumpled it in my hand and then dried it. What do you think? I think it needs something. I'm going to try to make some handmade paper flowers and so this may not be the last you've seen of these cards. :)

Once Upon A Princess...
I have a very dear friend who is an excellent scrapper. She really needs to have a blog to share her talents.
Today, we met up and spent 2 hours talking about glimmer mist. (haha!!!!). But she showed me her latest creation. It is SOOO cute that I had to share it with you. She actually created this for her niece to pass out for Valentine's day at school. These envelopes were made out of the Once Upon a Princess cartridge (page 73). The paper is Bo Bunny. She cut these at 2" and 2.5". She also used a scallop punch on the flap of the envelope. Inside, she has a small piece of Bazzill cardstock that the kids can write a note on.
And look at her Valentine's Day S-Card!!!
Here is her sample of homemade glimmer mist. What I wanted to share with you was her idea of taking white Prima flowers and spraying her homemade Glitter Mist (made with Pearl Ex, water, and Adirondack Ink- shaken in a Mini-Mister (all available at Michaels)). She is awesome.
Enjoy!
