A gaggle of mini cards...

I needed to make a handful of 'congrats' type cards.  Using 4 main images (from Alley Way stamps and Paper Smooches), I created these mini-cards:
I colored the images with Copics.  The 'conversation bubbles' I created by hand.

Have a fun Monday!!!!

Dr. Drew and Adam.... Moo-chas Gracias for a fine show!

Using my Create a Critter cow and Lawn Fawn stamps, I created this card with a coin envelope (for a gift card).  The sentiment is Scrappy Moms! I love their sentiments and fonts!

Amuse-bouche:

I recently saw Dr. Drew and Adam (Carolla) on their 'reunion tour' at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.
It was (as always) highly entertaining.

We also had a fabulous dinner at MB Post, in Manhattan Beach.  A MUST (although there might be a wait for a table) for some fabulous food. Hip Crowd.  (yes, that would be me and my friends.... we're HIP!... er rather, we have HIPS. LOL!)

Last thing,...
Check out Jenn's blog(Cookies, Cupcakes, & Cardio) on how to make a mother's day cupcake bouquet.  (It can be for any holiday).
I love her ideas and videos.

Caution... some nudity involved on my image....

Here's another card I've been trying to create but just not sure what the sentiment should be.  Due to the partial nudity of the image involved, scroll down to see the card.

I used my Copics and a spellbinder diecut.  The sentiment comes from my Scrappy Moms stamp set.
I used Tea Dye and Walnut Distress ink as well as Memento Cocoa ink for the sentiment.

A belated Valentine's card....

Using my Hero Arts background stamp, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Lawnfawn Stamps, Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamp (Love is in the Air), Penny Black stamp (airplane and stamp)... I created this little doosey!!!

Copics were used to color the image.  The background stamp was created using Watercolor paper, Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink (and a water mister), and white embossing powder.  I did use the clear glitter pen on the Love banner to make it glitter a bit...

Happy Wednesday!!!

An elegant Valentine's Day card... with Penny Black

Using my Scrappy Moms sentiments with my Versamark pad, I created this background for my image. The image is colored with Copics and used some Tumbled Glass ink.  I didn't do any fancy shading on the dress.   The flowers are from the $1.00 bin at Michaels.

Monday Blues....

I love this Brian Lock image. I've used it a few times before.  It's so versatile in this crazy world.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms.  The die cut is from Spellbinders Nestabilities.  I did use an old Stampin' up (spiral) stamp and the flower is from Lawn Fawn ("Bee Mine.")  I put a drop of Ranger's Enamel in the center of the flower.

Enjoy your week!!!

Red Carpet Studio Challenge... and Furry Friends

Hey all!!!
Check out Red Carpet Studios--- (if you're not already following them!).  They're doing a cute challenge re: bears inspired by "Ted" (another movie I need to see).

I entered my Kung-Fu Panda card!!! KUNG-FU!!!

SO, here's another one of my creations....
I love this card.  (The image is from Penny Black (I LOVE PENNY BLACK's ANIMAL STAMPS)).
I used Copics and a Fiskars grass punch (I used 2 Distress Ink pads to create the green grass).  I used a light (Tumbled Glass) Distress Ink Pad to create the sky.  The sentiment came from Scrappy Moms.

You can't see but on the black border, I used Versamark and stamped flowers. The white gel pen dots the center of the flower.

Amuse-bouche:

Pardon me while I indulge  bore you all with photos of my dogs, taken with my camera.  I'm... er, ... practicing. Yea, that's it.

Home from Vegas...

My final Cricut card...   for now...

Amuse-bouche:

My boys were happy to have me home.
Colt resumed his station at the window, looking for trespassers (both feline, human, and canine).

Sam was happy to have someone to sleep on...

Visions from Cathedral Gorge, NV

Continuing on with my Cricut image cards, check this one out.  The punch is from EK Success (paw prints).  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms.

Amuse-bouche:

So, this is Cathedral Gorge, NV.
The park ranger took us on a nice tour but unfortunately, I was so cold that I wasn't really paying attention except when she pointed out Kangaroo Rat tracks.

You can go in between the crevices.... there are little slots that you can slide in....

Here's a sample of walking into a 'slot.'

And here's a vision, looking up from within....

We then went to a view point above the gorge and looked down... Here's the view:

And here are all the animal footprints I saw....
The ranger told me this was Kangeroo Rat...

This is one of my favorite photos of footprints...

On to Vegas in the next posting...

Have a great weekend!

Pioche or Bust...

Using my Scrappy Mom's stamp and a Create a Critter image, I made this Thank You card....

Amuse-bouche:
I went on a trip with my Photography Class to Pioche, NV.
I'll be posting some photos over the next week (there are SOOO many photos).

Here we are at our first stop.... Barstow... for a short bathroom break and breakfast.
If you ever go to Barstow, this is the Barstow stop with the trains.

Here is the view out of the bus window as we went from Barstow to Vegas, along Interstate 15.  This is all you see... for miles and miles....

We stopped for a brief lunch break at New York, New York.... It was really cold in Vegas.  I ran out to the strip and took this photo really quick.

Then we got back up on the bus and headed out to Pioche.   However, we had a couple stops on the way...

We stopped at Ash Springs.  There was a Shell Station across the road and.... well, that's about it.
These are hot springs.... Water temp is 98degrees. The weather outside was about 30 degrees, with a wind.

These little fish live in the 98 degree water.  If you went into the hot springs in a bathing suit, these little fish would nibble on your feet... Doesn't hurt (one of our classmates had gone to the springs in the fall of 2012 when it wasn't so cold).

Of course, some people must have gone into the springs without underwear...

After leaving Ash Springs, we stopped at Caliente to photograph this old train station...

This is my attempt in being artistic....

Tomorrow.... PIOCHE, NV.

Cricut cards to say Thanks ... and photos from Nevada

I'm sorry for my absence.... I hope you're all having a great start to a new year.  There's a lot of fun stuff I wanted to share with you, so I had to make some cards!!!!

First, the card:

I cut a bunch of Cricut (Create a Critter) images a few weeks ago.  Unfortunately, on Christmas Eve, I started to come down with a congestion that resulted with a chest x-ray and then concerns of pneumonia.  But, alas,... I got lots of cough syrup and a steroidal inhaler to keep my asthma under control and started to get better.   The cold temperature that Southern California has been having didn't help my bronchials.  And then to complicate things, I had a photography trip scheduled to Nevada (and we're not talking about sunny 110 degree Vegas).  Armed with my Mucimex and Ricola cough drops, I made it through my Nevada trip which I will be sharing with you in the next few days.

This card was made with Cuttlebug embossing folders and a EK Success Grass punch.  It's a thank you card and the inside says "moo-chas gracias" (From Scrappy Mom's).

Amuse-bouche:
Sammy was put on a Weight Watchers diet at the time of Colt's Dental (back in November, 2012). He has gone from 25.2 lbs to 21.8 lbs. This photo was taken at his 'weigh-in' last weekend.
PS: His prescription dog food was Royal Canin SATIETY (ask your vet if you're interested)....

This photo was taken with my new SLR that my sister-in-law bought me for Christmas.

This is Colt... who only came for the visit, not to be examined.  He is watching the door, waiting for the vet or technician to come in... (He likes them; they usually have cookies).

Also, check out this super cool video that Jenn put up. I don't do well in temperatures less than 50 degrees so I find this fascinating....  She is awesome.  Check this video out.  Love the scenery... from my couch-- with a space heater on.  :)

Remember, go to her site for some great baking videos on cakes and cookies and all sorts of fun things. She makes it super easy to understand.   Click HERE to go to her site.

And lastly,  I've been watching all the great things coming out of CHA.   I already pre-ordered some stuff at my local stamp store.... (Penny Black and Lawn Fawn).  SOOOO Excited!!!!!

See you tomorrow with a card and more photos...

Halloween with La-la Land Crafts

I've been watching Suzanne Dean's YOU TUBE and Sandy Allnook's YOU TUBE videos to try to improve my Copic coloring.
VOILA

The background stamp is a Stampendous stamp on orange cardstock.
The bat paper was a small paper pack from Michaels.  The ribbon was from Michaels last year.
The circular chip board was from a K&CO set.  The image came from La-la land Crafts and colored with Copics.

This is the inside of the card.  I used the stamps from Scrappy Mom's with Black Ink (Memento ink).

This was made with the same background. The "BEWARE" came from the same chipboard set.
The red cardstock was stamped with a white background stamp from Ali Edwards.

The stamps are from an Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday stamp set that I picked up at my local stamp store, Stamp Fever.

Amuse-bouche:
My neighbor had this gigantic inflatable coffin in his yard.  Every so often, the vampire would swing open the lid and sit up.  Sammy found this ... extremely disturbing... (see next photo)

Sam was muttering to himself.... THIS IS NOT RIGHT...

True to form..., here I am in my costume... a "Jack Russell" terrier.
