A new home....

This house set came from Penny Black.  My aunt moved from the house that my uncle built in the early 60's to a home up north (in Northern California).   I imagine it must have been very hard.  At least she will be living near her daughter.

Here's some images from the back yard porch (CLICK HERE)

Another Sweet Hello Card...

Another sweet Penny Black image, with a Spellbinder Impressibility embossing sheet.  I don't think I put enough cardstock to make the embossed image more defined  :(
I put a white gel pen dot in the middle of all the flowers.  It's hard to see here.

The little 'hello' came from a Paper Trey Ink set.

Have a great weekend, my friends.  Ezra has a doctor appointment on Saturday to have a bump on her face looked at (Oh joys!  She is NOT going to be happy at the doctor poking around her mouth).

We're rolling along.... with Penny Black

Penny Black has some of the cutest images.  I loved how the Distress Stains came out...

Amuse-bouche:
   Why the long face, Colt?

Ezra has one pose:  "Please no photographs.  The flash hurts my eyes."

Happy Grad, Grad....

My mother requested a festive graduation card for her friend who was graduating college at age 76.
Voila.
I so adore Penny Black's farm animal series.
The graduation stamp came from a $1 bin at Michaels (I believe).  I colored in the letters and used my white gel pen to make polka dots. I just LOVE this look. The die cut is from SpellBinders Nestabilities.

Amuse-bouche:

A few weeks ago, we had some April showers (in May!).  Ezra couldn't get enough of the damp air and the mist on her face. She was LOVING life.   Despite me pulling over and putting her back in her pet booster seat, she kept leaning out.  She has a pink harness on AND she is tethered in her seat.   She was wearing a little soft fleece hoodie that I got her at the Pet Expo.  She couldn't feel the dampness on her neck or back so she wasn't afraid to get wet.

And finally (gosh I have so much to share)....
Here is my favorite audition so far on SYTYCD.  His name is Fik-Shun  (Fiction).
I hope he gets a permanent dancing job from this. He is a phenom.

And this is from his YouTube channel, free styling on Fremont Street in Vegas.

And yes, I'll be back with another card tomorrow!

Thank you card.... Stimpy has risen....

Another thank you gift card using Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn stamps. The blue background is a Penny Black set I had purchased.  WHEEEE!

The bird was purchased with Paper Smooches.

Amuse-bouche:

Stimpy has woken up from his winter slumber. Here he is, eating lettuce... And guess who is waiting for him to walk away, so HE can eat the leftovers---- Yes, that would be SamUL!

And here's Ezra... enjoying the sunset,... watching the front driveway

A belated Valentine's card....

Using my Hero Arts background stamp, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Lawnfawn Stamps, Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamp (Love is in the Air), Penny Black stamp (airplane and stamp)... I created this little doosey!!!

Copics were used to color the image.  The background stamp was created using Watercolor paper, Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink (and a water mister), and white embossing powder.  I did use the clear glitter pen on the Love banner to make it glitter a bit...

Happy Wednesday!!!

An elegant Valentine's Day card... with Penny Black

Using my Scrappy Moms sentiments with my Versamark pad, I created this background for my image. The image is colored with Copics and used some Tumbled Glass ink.  I didn't do any fancy shading on the dress.   The flowers are from the $1.00 bin at Michaels.

I LOVE PENNY BLACK....

I know I say that every few posts but I just got a few new PB images and I am just in love with her animals series.... her farm animals, her critters in London-- and now check this one out....

AREN'T THEY CUTE???? O-My-Lanta....
I colored with Copics, and added some Distress Ink on the edges to brighten the cardstock.  The background was created on watercolor paper with Distress Ink Pads (similar to the technique that Kristina Werner used on a recent card). The colors I used were Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, and Dusty Concord.  I then waited for the colors to dry and then stamped with White Colorbox ink "Thank U" from my Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set from Michaels.

If you want to see the video that shows how to do the background, go to the link from Kristina Werner:  click HERE.

I have Glossy Accents on the windows and headlights.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge with Penny Black

I'm entering this in the SSS Challenge.  They request that a Penny  Black stamp is used although you don't have to.  Here's a new stamp set I got.  I used Copics and some Distress Inks.

Amuse-Bouche:
Today it was very warm out so I took the boys out for a walk.  I snapped a few photos of them....

Red Carpet Studio Challenge... and Furry Friends

Hey all!!!
Check out Red Carpet Studios--- (if you're not already following them!).  They're doing a cute challenge re: bears inspired by "Ted" (another movie I need to see).

I entered my Kung-Fu Panda card!!! KUNG-FU!!!

SO, here's another one of my creations....
I love this card.  (The image is from Penny Black (I LOVE PENNY BLACK's ANIMAL STAMPS)).
I used Copics and a Fiskars grass punch (I used 2 Distress Ink pads to create the green grass).  I used a light (Tumbled Glass) Distress Ink Pad to create the sky.  The sentiment came from Scrappy Moms.

You can't see but on the black border, I used Versamark and stamped flowers. The white gel pen dots the center of the flower.

Amuse-bouche:

Pardon me while I indulge  bore you all with photos of my dogs, taken with my camera.  I'm... er, ... practicing. Yea, that's it.

Yea, someone needs an orthodontist!

A week of holiday cards...

I finally was able to create some holiday cards for my blog postings....

The reindeer and Santa hat came from a Paper Smooches stamp. I added Glossy Accents and Stickles.  The tree came from a Penny Black stamp.  All the coloring was with my Copics with a fine dusting with flocking powder.  The red brick came from an embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  The holly berries and ivy is from a Martha Stewart punch.  I colored the ivy using Inktense pencils.  **  Kristina Werner did a video on this new product.  They really are neat.  I used them here to color in the ivy-- but I didn't use watercolor paper so you can see the paper got a bit warped.  The Inktense pencils are available at Michaels for $34.  (Using a 50% coupon would be the best option).

Happy Monday!

HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS...

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY EVERYONE!!!
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and spending it with friends and family, like these critters above.
This is a Penny Black stamp (from the London series!).  Isn't this cute???  I just love LONDON and these stamps really speak to me... the Underground, the double decker buses, the CHIPS!!!!  :)

This image was colored with Copics and I used Glossy Accents.

PENNY BLACK LONDON STAMP

I made this card a while ago but hadn't posted it (due to my computer woes, which are still ailing me and impeding my card making progress).  Having said that, here is my card that I wanted to share with you.... I love London and I love this Penny Black series.  I used Copics and also put Glossy Accents on all the window panes.  The blue sky was made with a finger dauber and combination of Tumbled Glass and Broken China.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and I wrote over the sentiment with my Glittery Gel Pen from Sakura.

Amuse-bouche:
The dogs are loving the warmer weather... more walks.

Taking a ride with friends...

I made this card with my Spin Class in mind (Spin:  an exercise class at the gym featuring stationary bikes).

AND... I used Penny Black, of course.

The background is clear embossed Hero Arts background with Distress Ink swirled into the background (Chipped Sapphire and Broken China).  I love this combination of Distress Inks.

Happy Birthday... and my toothbrush rant

I know you've seen this image before but I combined it with "My Creative Time for Me" sentiment stamp and some Baker's Twine from Scrappy Moms.  (I LOVE Penny Black's farm animals series.  Sorry it seems so repetitive).

*****************
Here is a brief excerpt of an email I sent my friend last night at 11pm.  [Warning: I was very tired and cranky and irritated at the time]

"Toothbrush...UGH"
It took me 30 minutes to change the toothbrush head on my electric toothbrush.  I'm tired.  It's 10:55pm and I have been working on this for 25 minutes.
I tried to twist it off until my arthritic hands were sore and red and smelled faintly of mint.  I then tried to google 'how to remove a toothbrush head from an electric toothbrush' on my phone (because I didn't want to warm up my computer as it takes 5 minutes to get through all the programs that HP has generously loaded my computer with) and while trying to search it, typing with my arthritic hands, I ran out of battery.  Not wanting to go to bed without brushing my teeth, I turned the computer on (waited the 5 minutes to load everything, including the HP Advisor, to which I say... "I don't want your advice.") and continued with my google search on "how to change the brushhead on my toothbrush."  After a number of false leads (to which I say...."HOW CAN WE HAVE  FALSE LEAD ON A SUBJECT SO SIMPLE AS 'CHANGING A TOOTHBRUSH HEAD'"),   I finally found the manual online.  For your reference, under the section "how to change your brush-head," there is a drawing of my toothbrush with the brushhead, floating above the electric toothbrush, as if to imply it simple SLIDES off the electric toothbrush....
Hardly, she says drily.
[VERY] LONG story short-- I took a pair of pliers and basically cracked the replaceable head and removed it from my toothbrush.
It is now 11:30pm and I am 30 minutes late to bed and have sore joints in my hands and am cranky.
I hate my toothbrush.
GOOD NIGHT!
*****************
And yes, dear Readers... this is the kind of email I send my friends, usually filled with typos and punctuation errors because my (typing) accuracy drastically declines as the number of hours I've been awake approaches 24.
For you, dear Readers, I have invoked Spell-Czech.  :)

What's new?

Using Spellbinders Nestabilities and a Penny Black image, I created this card with Copics coloring, some Liquid Smooches, and Stickles.  The Nestabilities image was cut on a Debbie Mumm's Noah's Ark cardstock that I got in a pack from Joann's (over a year ago).  It's got very faint little dots on it.

Amuse-bouche:
I'm reading the Hunger Games.  I had resisted for many months because I didn't think I'd like it.  Wow!  It really is good.  It's like Survivor (the tv show) and The Running Man (old movie) tied into one. I can't put the Kindle down!

Things are so much better with friends!

I do love this stamp from Penny Black.  The sentiment came from Hero Arts.   I am still trying to practice my Copics coloring (it appears I will need A LOT of practice).

The envelope was stamped with my Technique Tuesdays sentiment and a Hero Arts bicycle stamp, using Jenni Bowlin ink.

Amuse-bouche:
It's been raining today in So Cal.  SamUL has been sleeping in his fleece blankets by the heater.

Colt:  "Another photo? UGH."

Happy Birthday!!!

Here's a birthday card I made using a new Penny Black stamp. I colored it using Copics and Distress Inks.    The sentiment was from a Hero Arts sentiment set that I used recently on my "Olivia Newton-John" card creation.
I put Glossy Accents on the eggs and White enamel on the 'batter.'  I did put Stickles on the cupcake.

The inside sentiment was a diecut stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp.  I then used another diecut and stamped a sentiment from "My Creative Time."

Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamp

I LOVE Simon Says Stamps.  It's where I get my Penny Black stamps and Distress inks....
Keeping in line with my New Year's resolution to make ALL original designs, here is an entry that I'm going to put into their Anything Goes challenge.  You can find it HERE.    You have to use My Mind's Eye products. The only product I have is a 6x6 paper pad so I used that (see the flower paper).  On the backside of the flower paper is a pink gingham paper. I used that for the corners and the sentiment matte.  The sentiment came from Paper Smooches (stamped in Jenni Bowlin ink).  The stamp is from Penny Black, colored Copics.   The image was cut out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities.   I also put a tiny dot of Liquid Pearls in my flower center.

Have a great week  :)

Simon Says Stamp Challenge- 3 papers

Here I go with another card entry into the Simon Says Stamp challenge.  I love SSS.  They have such a great variety of things-- and they sell PENNY BLACK!!! :)

Here's my card for the challenge (click HERE to see the challenge):
I used 3 different pattern papers.  I used a new Penny Black ("Mimi" series) image and colored it with Copics. I applied Glossy Accents to the umbrella.  The image was cut out using a Spellbinders diecut.  The sentiment came from My Creative Time.    I used a Spellbinder diecut to border the sentiment.  The ink I used was Melon Mambo (Stampin' Up) and I did use my Tim Holtz' piercer to make little holes in the scallops.

I thought this would be a nice card for OWH.  What do you think?
:)
