Thanks via Penny Black and Marlene S (at Squigglefly)

I made this thank you card for my physical therapist for helping me with my back.  I used the Penny Black image for the front of the card (using Copics, stickles, Black Enamel from Ranger), and some Glossy Accents on the blue bike frame.  I cut this with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die cut and used Tumbled Glass on the edges.

Here's a close- up (I LOVE PENNY BLACK'S COW IMAGES)
This is the inside of the card.  I got this image from Marlene (who I miss in the blog community).  You can find her images for purchase at Squigglefly.com.  I used flocking powder on her socks and Liquid Pearls on the dress and Glossy Accents on the eyeglasses.  I also used Stickles on the hair bow.
The sentiment came from an Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set re: Thanks that I got at Michaels.  The light blue dots are Liquid Pearls.  The ink on the sentiment is Jenni Bowlin.

Note: I am not this "top heavy" however pretty much everything else is accurate.  Even the little hairs on my leg.  (I have about 3 hairs normally... and sometimes forget to shave Larry, Moe, and Curly).

Here's a close up:

Go check out Theresa's blog:   http://theresasgottahaveblingblog.blogspot.com/
She has a great little card with this flower petal that opens up when you open the card.  She also has been really kicking out the cards!!!   (She really has some lovely cards on display).  I like that she varies her card shapes.

Quick little cards

Before I get to my simple little card, I have been trying to get around to more blogs this year. (It's been 26 days..., I'm trying).  So, I wanted to share with you another of my favorite sites.  It's Creepy Glowbugg's site. She is an artist.  She not only does cards but she does all kinds of art.  She's really good....  Plus, she's creepy-- in a good way. (haha).

OK, back to my cards:
I didn't want to make anything elaborate. I was trying to keep things simple (and trying to use little scrap papers that I had accumulated)
Here are three cards I made.  They are 2" x 2.25" in size. (VERY SMALL to keep things simple).
The first two cards are made as a portrait and landscape card.  I used a Paper Trey Ink image from the Tremendous Treats: Valentine.  I basically stamped it twice on brown and green paper with Memento Black ink and then cut the green version out and glued it to the brown version.  I ended up putting red Stickles on the heart (after I took the photo, duh). (See?  Very simple).

This third card is a birthday notecard.  The sheep image came from a clear stamp set:  Fresh New day (T is for Transparent) from Penny Black.  I used Liquid Pearls on the top of the head and red Stickles on the bird.  Coloring was done with Copics.   The photograph is not very good as I took it at 11pm.  I will try to re-photo it during the day and edit my blog posting on Friday (1/27/2012). (I have amended)

This is the inside of the sheep card...  The sentiment and cake came from a Paper Trey Ink stamp set (Tiny Treats: Birthday). I colored the cake with Copics, Orange Stickles, and White Enamel Accents (Ranger).

I thought I'd share this envelope I made.  I think it's fun to spruce up envelopes (that aren't necessarily going through the USPS).  I made this one to put the monkey wallet (from the prior post) in.  I used Scrappy Mom's "OH SNAP" stamp, along with Lawn Fawn's "CONGRATS."  The firecracker is from an old Stampin' Up stamp set. I also threw a little bit of red Stickles on the firecracker.

Amuse-bouche:
As you can see, they have left no room for me to sit down. (Yea, I know).  Although, it's a running joke amongst my co-workers:  If there is reincarnation, they want to come back as one of my pets.

Gift card wallets, courtesy of Mary, at Cardztv

I made some more of these great gift card holders.  One is for a promotion for a co-worker of mine.

The monkey came from a Recollections set of embellishments that I got at Michaels.  There was about 100 pieces in this big bag.

The "Congrats" and dog/cat image came from Lawn Fawn.  The cartoon bubble came from the $1 bin at Michaels.  The coloring was COPICS.

This is for a baby's birth-- gift card.

The sentiment "It's a girl" came from Lawn Fawn.

Valentine's Candy in a gift container....

Here's a neat container that I used to fill with Valentine's candy.

See below:  I cut red cardstock at 8.25" x 4.25".  I used two Paper Trey Ink stamps and stamped the images using Colorbox white ink and Jenni Bowlin Brown Sugar ink and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The punch was a small punch that I had from years ago (I don't know who the maker is).  I punched hearts about 1" in from the edge.  I put red Stickles on the heart.

I used Scotch Quick Dry and adhered the openings shut. I used the paper crimper (Fiskar's) to crimp the edges (use glue as well)

Amuse-bouche:

Well I've had some days off from work and even though I have tons of scrapping things I need to work on (playing with new Distress stains, stamps, etc)... I have been such a SLACKER.  I have been sleeping, watching Big Bang Theory, eating, watching American Idol on my DVR until 3am, and as of 24 hours ago, I started reading Stephen King's 11/22/63.  I can't stop reading it.  It's soooo good.

A small gift bag...

I created this bag from "Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More."  It took me a lot longer to make because I wanted to use pattern paper, but then discovered that on the other side of the bag, my leaves were upside down.  So, I cut it 3 times:  I cut it in light green thick cardstock.  And twice more in the pattern paper shown in the photo.  I cut out the pattern twice so that when I adhered it on the green cardstock, the main panels were facing upright.  I took green tissue paper and stamped my sentiments from "Tiny Tags II" (Paper Trey Ink).

The pink ink is from Stampin' Up (Melon Mambo) and the brown ink is from Jenni Bowlin

 Amuse-bouche:
This is a neat Christmas gift my dear friend made me.  She took Sam's photo & created this cute photo holder!!! I know you've seen others on other websites but I love the colors and ribbon and reindeer.  I had to share!

I thought Christmas was over....

Maybe for you... but I'm still getting my cards and gifts out. Yes, it's sad but true.  I just can't seem to move fast enough (which if you knew me, you would find it hard to believe).  Some of my past nicknames have been "Spaz" or "Energizer Bunny."(haha).

Here's a card I made for my aunt... to go with her Christmas gift (that I still need to mail). I made it with my Gypsy, using Elegant Edges.  The reindeer came from Doodlecharms (I think).  I used Tea Dye on the edges of the reindeer and cut out red felt for the nose.  How'z that for crafty!!! (snort).

I made this little gift basket for my German penpal Stefani.  I threw in some Studio G ink pads, 2 sentiment wood block stamps, and some glitter glue (Studio G).  I put it all in a Ikea Pail.  I also put in one of my favorite new items:  Burt's Bees:  Pomegranate Replenishing Lip Moisturizer.  I'm not one to put lip balm on my lips but I really like the way this makes my lips feel... and it sure does make my upper lip smell good.  I also gave her some glitter pens (not photographed) and some notecards that she can use with the stamps and glitter to bling up.  She doesn't make cards but perhaps I can introduce her to the most BASIC of card making. The flowers were on sale at Michaels!!! Sooooo cute and spring-like.

Amuse-bouche:
Thank you for all the wonderful comments about my pets.  I know, I should just re-name my blog:  "Photos of my pets... OH, and a few artsy crafty cards."   Speaking of which, this weekend, I'm going to try to shoot a video with the chinchillas.

If you didn't catch "Alcatraz" on Fox last night.... check it out.  I LOVE it.

I'm back....

with a card using Create-A-Critter and Tiny Tags II from Paper Trey Ink. I think I used Elegant Edges for the card frame (I made this card a week ago).    I used silver Stickles for the license and some white gel pen for the nose.   The twine is from Paper Trey Ink and the ink is Jenni Bowlin.

I'm very behind on my card projects.   I hope to catch up this weekend....  :(

Amuse-bouche:
People think I exaggerate my dog's love for the car. He loves to sit in the car because that might lead to a 'car ride.'
Please, can we go on a car ride?

Some thank you cards.... and Trojan Dogs

So... here is an assortment of thank you cards I made using the Wild Card cartridge from Cricut, Stickles (red or silver), and a Paper Trey Ink diecut/stamp set called Tiny Tags II.  The ink used is Jenni Bowlin... and inside, I used Broken China Distress Ink to just give it some color.  The twine I used was from Paper Trey Ink too.

Amuse-bouche:

Many of you commented about our Michael's allowing Sam in.  Yes, as long as he is in the cart, it is ok.  I know our local Home Depot allows dogs in (regardless of size) as long as they are on a leash.  Sam went into that store as well and rode the big lumber cart... like he was on some sort of parade float. It was quite funny.  Colt isn't allowed in Michaels as he WON'T allow me to put him in the cart and I don't take him into Home Depot because he has a tendency to 'mark' (if you get my drift).  That's all I need, is to pay for $300 worth of redwood planks (haha).

On to the nonsensical business at hand:

SamUL's grandpa is an USC alumnus.  This was Sammy's Christmas gift from grandpa.

And, not to be left out... Grandpa let Colt pose with his special USC earmuffs  ( WHO NEEDS EAR MUFFS IN SO CAL???  ha ha)   that was given to him by a co-worker of mine.  It was very kind of her to give my father these earmuffs.  He treasures them (that includes letting a dog wear them for a short time).

The things I put my dogs through....
 :)

We LOVE our Michaels!!!

Our local Michael's allows dogs in, (provided they stay in the cart).  SamUL has become a frequent visitor and consequently made a few friends.  Here are two of our FAVORITE employees who make our visit so pleasant.

The last week has been filled with eating, congestion, more eating, Big Bang Theory, some more eating, Micro (by Michael Crichton, RIP), and yes... pass that plate. Cards are coming soon.  My New Year's Resolution is all original designs by ME!
