Just saying Hi.... I will be posting soon

I just wanted to say that I'm in the process of videotaping my mini album that I worked on.  If you are busy, please feel free to check this site in the next few days.  For those of you who aren't too busy.... I have a little "blah blah blah" for you....

I had a bit of a relapse with the cough. I finally started feeling better on Saturday (and wasn't wheezing away).  I am still coughing,... but I'm not coughing crazily like I was every time I try to talk.  Nonetheless, I have finished my album... and was preparing a video.... when I found that my SD card was full.  I have now purchased another... and am just waiting for good natural lighting to film this (yes, I'm very anal-retentive).
And THEN TO TOP IT OFF... I was trying to work a zipper on a dress for 10 minutes this morning.  I suddenly notice a flap of skin hanging off my index finger from where I was working the zipper.  Needless to say, there is now a big red raw circle on the side of my left index finger.  JUST IN TIME FOR A VIDEO PRIMARILY FEATURING MY HANDS!  I hope this doesn't distract anyone from looking at my pretty album.  I am really proud of my album.  It's a gift for a party on Saturday.
Oh, and btw,  I never got that darn zipper to work.  It's a really TEMPERMENTAL zipper.  (Thanks, Ann Taylor Loft!.... pffft).

I miss y'all and I SOOO need to catch up on postings but I have been trying to catch up on work and some other particulars that have been consuming my day and night....

Hugs,
N

The wheezing is subsiding....

I'm cheating.  I made this card last spring but I have nothing to show you guys... and I just wanted to post something to say that I'm still alive.  I used the Create a Critter cartridge and Cuttlebug (thank you embossing folder).

Sorry, I've been absent. I'm working on a mini book (still) and I'm still congested.  I had to relent and see the doctor today.  I'm armed with an anti-inflammatory bronchial inhaler as well as cough syrup (heavier).  The inhaler is already working.  [I asked him if I could go back to spin class (cycling) on Thursday. He looked over his frames at me and said "Maybe NEXT Thursday."]  boo hiss.

My mini album is coming along. I put a lot of work into it and I hope it (a) stays glued together (b) looks good. I hope to finish it this weekend.

To commemorate my ability to breathe (without coughing or hacking or wheezing), I've selected one of my favorite songs called "Breathe" ....  Check it out--  oh, and it's ok to let your head bop up and down....    :)   [Someone throw me some glow sticks.]

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PROMO!!!

I got this cute little image from Wendy at Digital Delights by Louby Lou!!!! And when you put in him on an Action Wobble.... he looks even cuter!!!  I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities (Labels) and Copics. As I told you in a prior post, my friend got a promo so this is the card I gave her.  Congrats L!!!!

Close up Image

Sentiment from Scrappy Moms!!!  Stickers from Michaels

Amuse-bouche:  And as I craft, I've been watching The Shining (the original) with Jack Nicholson.  I've seen this movie so many times.  We used to have holidays at my cousins' house and every holiday (mind you, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and NY's), we'd break out The Shining on VHS  and watch it at least once.  (The other choice was Moonraker).

We'll miss you... to one of our best

One of my co-workers is being deployed back to Afghanistan in a few weeks.  Here is the 'going away card' I made him for everyone to sign, wishing him well and a safe trip back home.

I got the stickers from Michaels (Jolee).... and the font is from the Pooh Font Cartridge (shadow and regular font).  The camo ribbon came from Joann's.

The card is 5.5" x 8.5"

The "ARMY" sticker is on white cardstock... then matted on Black Cardstock and then popped up

No chit chat tonight. Got some work to do but I hope to have some postings this weekend.
Have a great Friday everyone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD FOR MY DAD

Well, today is the first day I felt better. I had to call in for stronger cough syrup as this congestion was wreaking havoc on my chest cavity.  It's been a weekend of coughing, tissue, BONES (yes, the TV show on NETFLIX), and cheesecake... Say what???? I'll explain.

First, the card....
Happy Birthday to my dad who reminds me daily what Cesar Milan would say about how poorly my dogs behave, tries to diagnose my vehicle problems, and waits for the service tech (plumber, cable, termite, etc) to come to the house so I don't have to take off of work.

Copics, Sharpies, Stickles, and a cute image from Bugaboo Stamps

Sticker was part of a pack of Stickers that I believe I purchased at Michaels...

Back to my story.... So, most of the weekend was spent coughing... (nose blowing didn't start until yesterday).  I felt ok, just had a heaviness in my chest and was coughing a lot.  I was taking my good friend (My Comic-Con Partner-in-Crime) out for dinner as she received a promotion at her company.  (Her card will be posted tomorrow).  We had a lovely dinner at Cheesecake Factory where I (a) nearly stabbed the waiter with my fork because he was taking my french fry plate away and there were still about 8 more fries left (b) opted for the Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake because $.25 was being donated to a "feed the hungry" campaign (c) kindly corrected the waiter that I was ordering 2 slices of cake as opposed to 1 to be shared  (d) ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Now, you know me by now... what do YOU think the answer is?

Let's go over the choices:
(a) Yes, I nearly buried the tines of my fork in his wrist as he mistook my animated conversation with gesticulations with "I am done eating my meal."
(b) Apparently, they have a new cake they are temporarily selling.  I toiled with my 'go to' option of "Red Velvet Cheesecake (see prior blog post) with this new lovely slice of heaven.  Check it out people....  the Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake.
Now for those of you who have NEVER been to a Cheesecake Factory, let me just say... it's wonderful but highly caloric.  Yea, that dollop of peanut butter goodness on top-- UNFORGETTABLE.  The whole thing is just AWESOME!!! (eyes rolling back for dramatic effect).  I digress...
The waiter tried to SELL the slice to us by telling us that it was 1 of 2 cakes wherein  $.25 was being donated to charity. Now, keep in mind, this slice is about $6.95.  You'd think they could donate a bit more than $.25.   But, being such a good salesman that he is- he convinced us that charity should be the foremost factor in our decision making process.
(c) The waiter brought 1 slice for my friend and me to share. Not being shy... and having hardly eaten all day to save up for this... I flapped my arms about, beckoning him back to our table... "Um, we need another piece."  What a professional!  He didn't let on what he was really thinking.  Snort!  Dude! Look, you're going to get a bigger tip so smile and get my darn slice before I stab you with my other fork  (haha).

After our lovely dinner, we went to go see "Paul."  It was a cute alien movie with two British Actors that we like:  Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Star Trek, Spaced) and Nick Frost (Spaced).  What we really liked was that the movie started and ended at Comic-Con in San Diego.

Disclaimer:  story was embellished for the sake of comedic elements (although I really did eat that Cheesecake)

Scrappy is feeling crappy

Here is the last card for the week, until I can make more.  It was made with a Louby Lou image and an Action Wobble. I also used the same Stampin up sentiment that I used on my prior card. Note, there's a Sizzx embossing folder thrown in there too.

Copics were used to color the image.

The weather keeps changing here in So Cal and my body can't keep my internal temperature consistent... this usually results in a heaviness in my chest cavity (chest congestion).  I took my Claritin and I'm off to bed. If you don't hear from me, please call for reinforcements (haha).

HAPPY EASTER

Another simple Easter card.  Note, the flower is actually a Prisma color flower with a little rose flower (that you buy at Michaels) in the center (Thanks Life in the Scrap Lane for that idea).   I used my COPICS (I love my COPICS) and distressed the edge with Tim Holtz' Dusty Concord.  Ribbon came from Michaels.

Amuse-bouche:
I picked the boys up some new doggie ice cream.  I don't know if you guys buy your dogs Frosty Paws but... this is their new product.  Just in time for summer...

HOPPY EASTER

Here is an Easter card I made a friend.  It is made with an image from Wendy at Digital Delights with Louby Lou.  I also put it on an Action Wobble.  In addition, I used my COPICS pens.  The Sentiment came from Stampin' Up and I used two punches (1" circle and 1.5 scallop circle).  I also used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss the yellow paper.

Amuse-bouche:
Joke for you... well, those of you who have heard Lady Gaga's song, "Pokerface"

"How do you wake Lady Gaga up in the morning?"
"Po-po-poke- her face."

Hello??? Is this thing on?  Hello?
Let me just say, I am NOT a Lady Gaga fan.

Here's my latest favorite song (via video since I don't know how else to put a song up here) that I dance to on the stair-stepper.... I would have put the video up but it was extremely risque. About the 30 second mark is when I start the head-banging...

THANK MOO...

Gosh, I sure missed posting last week.... I really aimed to make more cards this weekend but I've been making some items (wallets) that you have already seen.  But, here's a cute little thank MOO card I made for my friend. We had a lovely dinner on Saturday night.  The image came from "Digital Delights from Louby Lou."    What a cute image. Thank you Wendy!!!

The ribbon came from the wedding section at Michaels.  I used Copics markers and some Stickles (frosted lace).

Amuse-bouche:
A new shirt at Target for Sammy:  "Plant a Toilet."
