Supernatural Convention

One of my very first (ambitious) scrapbooking projects I made was last April.  It was ambitious in that I had never done a scrapbook before.  I don't really scrapbook as it seems so overwhelming.  So, in an effort to overcome this perception, I made my two friends a little memorial of our trip to the Supernatural Convention in Los Angeles.  (Yes, I know. Geeking out on you.)

I supplemented the scrapbook with quotes and photos that I got from the internet.
[I didn't put a lot of embellishments because I didn't want to cover the scrapbook paper that I used in the background.]

Thanksgiving Bird

Happy Weekend-Before-Thanksgiving:
This was made with 3 Birds on Parade.  I really like this cartridge.  I used stickers that I got on the clearance aisle at Target (I think).  The ribbon is from Michaels.  The leaves are from Create A Critter and I just used the white gel pen.  The paper was from Recollections (at Michaels) however the little gingham paper was from a thick paper set from DCWV "Flower Shop."

A balanced diet... a Cookie in each hand

Llamas!

Yesterday, during SamUL's agility class, a Llama group walked by.  They were on their way to lunch at a local park and stopped to let us pet them.  They were very friendly and comfortable with people.  I had picked up SamUL and let him sniff the Llama.  Here are the photos to follow... (Thanks Leah for taking these photos!)  Both dog and llama smelled each other but were uninterested in developing any further acquaintance.

This llama's name is Dalai Llama

I've been making cards but alas, the natural light is fading away and so I will have to photo the cards tomorrow.

MARY'S MINI ALBUM BLOG HOP

Mary, over at CardZtv is having a mini album blog hop.  I've made a few mini albums in my time and all of them have been because of Mary. She has such great videos  This is a recent "Toilet Paper Roll" mini album that I made for a friend whose dog's name is Zoe.

These are the tags for the album (front side)

These are the back side of the tags

Amuse-Bouche:
The winds returned a bit today (although not as bad as two weeks ago).  It was a lovely day in So Cal so I'm glad I was out running errands and taking the boys to Subway, rather than staring at the ceiling with Kleenex stuffed up my nose.

Off to watch "Hot Tub Time Machine." Hopefully John Cusack will make it all worth while as I've heard mixed reviews on this movie. 80's ROCK!
Hair Crimped, hair ribbon from Crafting Store, skirt from Forever21 or one of those Teen stores in the mall, legwarmers and bangles, gloves and earrings from one of those mall stores, leggings from WalMart or Target, and attitude?  MINE!

Congestion.... BE GONE!

The winds started a little over a week ago in So Cal. Most of the time, I can avoid getting allergy-related issues but this time, it got me.  So, I spent most of the weekend staring at the ceiling, watching Supernatural (season 5), popping Mucimex, downing cough syrup, and thinking of all the cards I wanted to make when I could sit upright again.  Luckily, I had my own furry hot water bottles to keep me warm.

This is how I felt most of the week!

Here is a card I started coloring last night with my Prismacolor pencils.  I used some Stickles to bling it up.
The sentiment came from an acrylic set that I got from Michaels.  The flower came from Michaels--- oh, and the ribbon? That came from Michaels.

OHHHH good grief... and the snail came from The Digi Shack: Brian Lock!!!

Have a nice week.

Digi's with Attitude!!!! Thanks Marlooney!!!

Imagine my surprise to find that I was nominated for an award at Digi's With Attitude.  First of all, I am rarely nominated for anything... pleasant.  Usually it's something along the lines of "She'll do it. She has no shame or sense of decorum."  But this is really neat. Plus I got a nifty badge to put on my blog.  Considering I never was in the Girl Scouts or Brownies (because it conflicted with the numerous piano recitals that most asians are branded at birth to succumb to), I've never received a badge.  Oh wait.  Does the YMCA swim badges count?  I think I got up to "Minnow."

I have to name 3 things that separate me from everyone else. So many to choose from....
Here it goes.
1.  I have been known to share my eating utensils with my dogs.  I don't have a problem with feeding them off a fork or spoon and then putting the utensil in my mouth.  (Some of you make be feeling the urges to hurl... and that brings me to #2)
2.  I am not adverse to vomiting.  I believe it is a very nice abdominal work out and normally, when I am retching, it is because I'm not well enough to go to the gym.  SO... there's the yin for the yang.  M.U.L.T.I.-.T.A.S.K.I.N.G.
3.  I'm naturally hyper and don't require a lot of sleep.  In addition, I have a very out-spoken personality. BANG.  Throw in caffeine and I am a walking ball of noise and energy.  This can be more than annoying to some people who enjoy a very calm and zen-like atmosphere.  Heck, even without caffeine, I can annoy some people.
To bring the point home: the Japanese have a slang word synonymous with "obnoxious."  URUSAI [sounds like UUH RUU SIGH].  My dad gave me a shirt with the words printed on it.

Now, I have nominate 5 people for the same opportunity to receive a $5 GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM DIGI'S WITH ATTITUDE.  If you guys follow and comply with the instructions, you receive a $5 gift certificate!  What do you think of THAT?  Here are the 5 I've nominated.

1.  Nicole at Canadian Nickel Scrap'n:  http://canadiannickelscrapn.blogspot.com/

2.  Jeni at Flip Flop Creations:  http://jeniflipflop.blogspot.com/

FURRY SHOULDER PADS?

Meet Dwight and Jim...

No, NOT THOSE GUYS....   THESE GUYS....

They're Standard Grey chinchillas who love to run on their wheel, eat (Organic) Shredded Wheat, and (Organic) Banana Chips as they lounge in their privately Air-Conditioned room.  Chinchillas need to live in a temperature that doesn't exceed 75 degrees.   They're typically made into coats.  Seeing how it takes thousands to make a big coat, I have enough for some furry shoulder pads or a bra.

Speaking of furry, how about this little wolf.  I actually got this stamp from a stamp convention about 10 years ago.  I colored him with my pencils.  I then took my polka dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug) and altered the embossed paper with a purple gel pen.  I cut trees from a Cricut cartridge  (can't remember which one) and created the sentiment on my computer.

GYPSY UPDATE!!! OR LACK THEREOF

For those of you who are having problems with this Gypsy update, I think it takes a lot of attempts to download the update (even if you have already done it 10 times before).  I just requested the download of the update again (for the 5th time tonight) and miraculously, the screen actually says something other than "connected."  It said something about how the Gypsy is updating and don't turn it off. So, this is a first for me.
UPDATE:
After about 4 minutes, it turned itself off and now I'm going to see if it worked.  (Mind you, I was getting fairly frustrated and worried that I was going to get ripped off of my 'free' cartridges).  Uh oh... now I got an error message about the bridge.exe stopped working.  POOP!  This may require the skills of a more techy-asian  (MY BROTHER) than what I'm capable of handling.
UPDATE:
OH JOYS!  It worked!
*OK, so those of you who are hanging in there--- I suggest you keep trying to upload and turning it off and on, etc.

 *******************************************************************************************************
As far as cardmaking goes, Ms. Marlene requested a closer shot of the last card I displayed.  (See? I do read your comments :-)      )
Here are my close up shots of my last card:

You can see the true imperfections this close up.  eek!
Haha, I just figured out that if I put the size of the photo on X-Large, it really helps you guys see the cards bettter.  Hmm. My bad!  Sorry.
(I'll try to go back and fix on my prior posts in the future).

Off to feed the chinchillas.  Have a great Wednesday!

Halloween has gone to the dogs...

Aren't these the cutest dogs!!!  One is a white Schnauzer.  Most people see the Standard Grey or maybe Black.  Look how gorgeous their coats are.
These are my friend's little doggies.  So photogenic!!!
My friend is such a great scrapbook maker. I wish she would start a blog (hint hint, missie). She pays such attention to detail.

This card was made with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, a Dustin Pike image, ribbon and faux stitching.
The sentiment was simply typed (by a simple person- haha) on the computer and I used a Fiskar's scissor to cut around the sentiment.  I also inked it with a stamp pad around the edges.

As much as I'd like to sit and gab endlessly about my inability to create a card in less than 3 hours, I must get ready for bed as I'm a bit tired.  I got up at the butt-crack of dawn to get to the gym to reserve my spot for Spin (that's cycling class for those of you who might have thought I also engage in  classes of pottery making or weaving small coats out of the dog fur) classes IN DECEMBER!!!  Yes, you heard me right.  I have to reserve a month in advance because if not, there is NO way I'll get in the class.  Why I'm paying $1 a class to reserve the right  to wheeze, sweat, and grunt for an hour, is BEYOND me.
Oh wait--

THIS IS WHY!!!! Cheesecake Factory's Red Velvet Cheesecake.  Eyes. Rolling. Into. The. Back. Of. My. Head.  When my teeth fall out, I will still eat this- throw it in a blender and suck it out of a straw!!! SOOOO Yummy!!!!
