Anna's Card

My friend, Anna, got a Cricut and she has been bitten by the bug.  This is her second card! Can you believe it?

Great job Anna!!!!  Nice color coordination.
Let's get you a blog!!!   :)
And here are Anna's doggies, Elsa and Joey.  (You KNOW there had to be a canine reference, didn't you?? C'mon!)

Elsa on the left, Joey on the Right
As for me, I have created a card. No time to put up tonight.... you'll have to wait for tomorrow!

On a more serious note, please take a peek over at this site http://www.jakheath.com/2011/01/help-for-katie.html
and read Katie's story.  I saw the link on Marlene's blog and spent some time reading about Katie's journey.
Katie will be in my thoughts and prayers.

"TURNED GYPSY" NEEDS OUR VOTE :)

Hey everyone...
I got an email from Chris (Wooten) from www.turnedgypsy.blogspot.com
She's asked if we would go to  www.facebook.com/JingerAdams and post that Chris Wooten sent you.
For those who do, she is going to give away an April Showers Cricut Cartridge, 1 yr subscription to Paper Craft Magazine, 36 Bic Markers, and SCAL software.  She'll be picking the winner next week.  (I'm not sure if it's a bunch of prizes or 1 big prize with everything).
Anyway, I don't have Facebook but I thought I'd pass on her email in case you're interested in FREE stuff.

I don't have a card to post today  :(

So,.... not wanting to come empty-handed to the party, here ya go...

I don't believe Spartacus #1 appreciated the Bobblehead that is Dwight Schrute.  For shame!

Birthday Scrapbook

Here is a birthday scrapbook I made for a friend.  It is just a simple scrapbook.  I used a lot of Cricut Cartridge frames and stickers.

And I want to send a special thanks to Viv http://doggonecrazy-viv.blogspot.com/, Jeni  http://jeniflipflop.blogspot.com/  , Kelly http://sandcastlestamper.blogspot.com/ and Tammy  http://tammy-tammyspot.blogspot.com/ for always putting a little comment on my blog.
These girls have great blogs too and the best part is that they post A HECK of a lot more than I and they're really good with the Copic/Prismacolor pencils.
Thank you all for your comments and support... and your all around dog-friendly spirit.

My 2011 goal is to take a sewing class. The sewing machine intimidates me.  (So does the Cuisinart for that matter).   So  many levers and buttons and I fear I'll stitch my fingers together. I believe however, with the right instructor, even I can sew.  I see some of you stitch on your cards.  What a great little touch.
Secretly, my main incentive to learning to sew is that I want to try to make simple, form fitted outfits for my dogs.  I'm sure it is harder than I think to make an outfit for a dog (maybe I'll start out with capes-- haha)  but maybe by December 31, 2011, I will have made something that I won't be embarrassed to show you all.

Sammy Takes First Place at Agility

Sammy got First Place at Graduation for his Agility Class.

Here's the video, including me trying to keep up with him with a strained gluteus maximus and a sore lumbar.

And here's his photo.

Next time, we're going to try for the Intermediate class.  That class is done primarily offleash, which concerns me as Sam tends to sometimes decide he wants to take off for the highway that borders this park.

Oh, and I should add...
My little Friend,  Miss Turtle, made a comment to her mother.
"Mom, did you know what it would say if you took the "S" off of her blog name?  It'd say "Crapping in a Zoo!"  BAH HA HA HA HA HA"
Hrmph.  I know that Miss Smarty Pants.
:)
PS: I'll collect some of my "scraps" in the backyard JUST FOR YOU!

SASSY SAY'N'S BY MARLOONEY

I am a HUGE fan of Marlene's over at www.disguisedasagrownup.blogspot.com

And I just was able to see some of her sentiments that she created and is selling over at

"BEHOLD FARTUCUS???? "
I love it!!!

I can't wait for this weekend before I can do some shopping. The digi images are reasonable also and very cute AND they take PayPal!!!!
Cha-Ching!!!

If you're not a follower of Marlene... you're missing out! She's hilarious and will make you laugh at least 1 time a day, typically at 9pm PST.

I used aluminum foil that I glued on to a circular cardstock with QuickDry (Scotch) and then ran it through the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder.  This helped keep the shape.  I then cut the foil off.  I glued it to a Gypsy cut Scallop Circle. I used glitter paper for the bird and flower.  I cut the images from the Sweethearts Cartridge (I think). I then faux stitched. Nicole, the Canadian Nickel, created the Aluminum Foil technique.

Look at the 9/22/10 entry.

The Last Christmas Card for 2010

This is the last Christmas Card I made for the holiday season.  I have displayed my other ones and saved one of my favorites for last.  I like it because of the Dragon.  The image was from Dustin Pike. He has the cutest stuff
http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/

I used Prismacolor pencils and Stickles.

I used a Martha Stewart Mistletoe Punch and embossed the green paper. I used Stickles on the eyebrows and holly berries and snow.  I used Sharpie pens on some of the image to make the color pop a bit more. The sentiment was from an old Stampin' Up collection done in Green Staz-on and faux stitched with a Sharpie.  The ribbon was on the $1 rack at Michaels.

This is a closeup for Marlooney.  :)

A wonderful Christmas Gift

One of my dearest friends and her awesome daughter gave me a box of goodies.

Look at the cute card they made
I'm happy to report that they are now Cricut owners and have been having fun learning how to use their Cricut.  I hope they start a blog (HEAR THAT GIRLS???? I'M TALKING TO YOU!!! AND YOU, MISS TURTLE.  SHOWCASE YOUR CREATIONS!).

And look at my friend's first card she ever made with a Cricut.   I am so honored she gave it to me!

And look at this pile of goodies they so generously gave me.  I am very very lucky to have such good friends.

Thank you again, girls.  [And yes, Miss Turtle, I hear you are lurking on my blog.  I hope to see more of your little Cricut Creations!
