Love notes...

Using my new Lawn Fawn stamp and Jenni Bowlin ink pads, I created this card on my Neenah Solar White Cardstock. I love this cardstock. It's so thick!!! Better than my thin Recollections paper.

Mmm, ice cream (with Glossy Accents)....

Enjoy...

Meow- It's your birthday...

I had an extra Cat image from my Cricut so I put together this quick birthday card.... The stamp "It's your Birthday" came from a Hero's Arts set.    The background paper is from Michaels.

The cat is on an Action Wobble.

Enjoy!

Red Carpet Studio Challenge... and Furry Friends

Hey all!!!
Check out Red Carpet Studios--- (if you're not already following them!).  They're doing a cute challenge re: bears inspired by "Ted" (another movie I need to see).

I entered my Kung-Fu Panda card!!! KUNG-FU!!!

SO, here's another one of my creations....
I love this card.  (The image is from Penny Black (I LOVE PENNY BLACK's ANIMAL STAMPS)).
I used Copics and a Fiskars grass punch (I used 2 Distress Ink pads to create the green grass).  I used a light (Tumbled Glass) Distress Ink Pad to create the sky.  The sentiment came from Scrappy Moms.

You can't see but on the black border, I used Versamark and stamped flowers. The white gel pen dots the center of the flower.

Amuse-bouche:

Pardon me while I indulge  bore you all with photos of my dogs, taken with my camera.  I'm... er, ... practicing. Yea, that's it.

Yea, someone needs an orthodontist!

Home from Vegas...

My final Cricut card...   for now...

Amuse-bouche:

My boys were happy to have me home.
Colt resumed his station at the window, looking for trespassers (both feline, human, and canine).

Sam was happy to have someone to sleep on...

Kung-Fu Panda.... Thanks!

Using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and my Create a Critter cartridge, here's my cutie-patootie Panda.

Amuse-bouche:
After we left Cathedral Gorge, we headed to Vegas.   We went to the Clark County Museum to take photos.   The museum is run by "Mark  Hall-Patton,"  one of the experts on the show Pawn Stars (History Channel).

Here are some photos that I took at the Clark County Museum (they had a nature trail....).  The photos below include photos for our photography class.

Our teacher thought we'd try to stop in at the Pawn Store where "Pawn Stars" is done.
Here's the outside.... (it's on Las Vegas Blvd).
Once inside, we found out that Mark Hall-Patton (one of the 'authorities' on the show) was signing autographs and taking photos.  We had just left Clark County Museum where he is an adminstrator.
He was very nice....

As you can see, I was very cold.  Here is a photo of me and Mark Hall-Patton.

Across from the N. Las Vegas Outlet stores, is this building.  The architect was Frank Gehry.  It actually a Brain Institute.
We all got out to take photos of it.  The building looks like it's melting.  Really neat.

Visions from Cathedral Gorge, NV

Continuing on with my Cricut image cards, check this one out.  The punch is from EK Success (paw prints).  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms.

Amuse-bouche:

So, this is Cathedral Gorge, NV.
The park ranger took us on a nice tour but unfortunately, I was so cold that I wasn't really paying attention except when she pointed out Kangaroo Rat tracks.

You can go in between the crevices.... there are little slots that you can slide in....

Here's a sample of walking into a 'slot.'

And here's a vision, looking up from within....

We then went to a view point above the gorge and looked down... Here's the view:

And here are all the animal footprints I saw....
The ranger told me this was Kangeroo Rat...

This is one of my favorite photos of footprints...

On to Vegas in the next posting...

Have a great weekend!

10 Minute Challenge inspired by Christy Gets Crafty....

I wanted to take small break from my trip to Pioche because I saw this inspiring video from Christy Gets Crafty....
She cracked me up as she tried to make a card AND SUCCEEDED in 10 minutes.  I totally related to what she was saying.  So, I decided to try (minus the video).
Check her video out HERE by going to her blog posting.  Her video is great.  I'm sure we can all relate.

So, here's what my card ended up looking like (after 13:19):

THE SET UP:

I had preset out my 2 stamp sets (by Paper Smooches) and 1 5.5x4.25 craft cardstock and my Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pad and Versamark... as well as my two Spellbinder dies and Cuttlebug.

I set my timer for 10 minutes and here's what I had at the 10:00 mark.
A mess!

Doh!!!!

AND HERE'S WHAT THE DESK LOOKED LIKE AFTER THIS HOT MESS WAS OVER.... AT 13:19.

WHY YES... THAT WOULD BE A BOWL OF YAMS ON MY DESK. LOL.

I should admit that while I was doing this challenge, I had my Netflix on... and snuck a few glances to see what was going on "The Tudors"... My bad.  Lost a good 20 seconds, right there!

Come back tomorrow to see some super special photos of Cathedral Gorge, NV.

You're TREE-MENDOUS... and more photos from Pioche...

Using my Cricut and Cuttlebug, I created this thank you card with a Scrappy Moms' Stamp "You're Tree-mendous."

Amuse-bouche:

So, here are scenes from a little town called Pioche, in Nevada.  There is no one on the street because it was 4 degrees outside.  I think I had a snot-sicle.  I'm not sure.  I couldn't feel anything.
I did meet one town resident with his Chihuahua, Sandy.  He asked "What are you two doing?  It's cold out here!"  I said, "yes, well... um, we're on a photo trip.... um... we're from Orange County (as if that explains everything)."
Mind you, during the 1 hour we were out taking photos, we saw NO ONE except fellow classmates!

What a cute library!!!

This was our hotel.... and saloon....

Here's Sandy

And this is a dog named Bear that came running out at me.

View from a street in Pioche

This was painted on the wall inside the saloon.

I saw this lamp.... and had to take the photo.

Here's a view from the top of the main street in Pioche.

Pioche or Bust...

Using my Scrappy Mom's stamp and a Create a Critter image, I made this Thank You card....

Amuse-bouche:
I went on a trip with my Photography Class to Pioche, NV.
I'll be posting some photos over the next week (there are SOOO many photos).

Here we are at our first stop.... Barstow... for a short bathroom break and breakfast.
If you ever go to Barstow, this is the Barstow stop with the trains.

Here is the view out of the bus window as we went from Barstow to Vegas, along Interstate 15.  This is all you see... for miles and miles....

We stopped for a brief lunch break at New York, New York.... It was really cold in Vegas.  I ran out to the strip and took this photo really quick.

Then we got back up on the bus and headed out to Pioche.   However, we had a couple stops on the way...

We stopped at Ash Springs.  There was a Shell Station across the road and.... well, that's about it.
These are hot springs.... Water temp is 98degrees. The weather outside was about 30 degrees, with a wind.

These little fish live in the 98 degree water.  If you went into the hot springs in a bathing suit, these little fish would nibble on your feet... Doesn't hurt (one of our classmates had gone to the springs in the fall of 2012 when it wasn't so cold).

Of course, some people must have gone into the springs without underwear...

After leaving Ash Springs, we stopped at Caliente to photograph this old train station...

This is my attempt in being artistic....

Tomorrow.... PIOCHE, NV.
